EcoZoom Partnering with MercyCorps to Help Survivors from Super Typhoon Haiyan

Super Typhoon Haiyan was one of the strongest storms to ever make landfall and has left the Philippines in need of aid for the more than 9 million people it has affected. EcooZoom will donate $10 to MercyCorps for every EcoZoom rocket stove purchased from our website (ecozoomstove.com/store) through the end will November. It took a little while for the true toll of super typhoon Haiyan to become apparent, but once the storm passed the photos of devastation started to trickle in. Now, just days later it is clear that the destruction caused by the storm is immense and that the people of the Philippines need help with access to clean water, food, and a place to call home. That’s why we have decided to partner with MercyCorps in supporting the relief effort for those affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan. Starting November 13th, EcoZoom will donate $10 for every rocket stove purchased from our website store (ecozoomstove.com/store). This relief campaign will last through the month of November and all funds raised will be donated to the MercyCorps Philippines Typhoon Response fund.

Philippines

When looking for an agency to partner with it was a no-brainer to work with MercyCorps. MercyCorps Northwest has provided EcoZoom with multiple business loans that have allowed EcoZoom to grow at a sustainable rate over the last three years. Their support has helped fund our US operations which in turn has allowed EcoZoom to build our East African business based in Nairobi, Kenya where we are bringing our clean burning cookstove technology to those in need. Beyond their support of EcoZoom, MercyCorps has a proven track record of building a sustainable strategy for bringing change and helping those in need in some of world’s most desperate communities. Moreover, on November 10th MercyCorps announced that they would be sending experienced emergency responders to the Philippines to assess the damage and assist in the typhoon relief effort. MercyCorps is familiar with the region having spent years helping low-income communities in the Philippines and also has two decades of emergency response experience for crises around the world. Join us this November by donating directly to the MercyCorps fund for Typhoon survivors or purchasing an EcoZoom stove from ecozoomstove.com/store.
